Whatever your stage of life, and whatever your background and experience, L’Arche has something to offer -and so do you.
People choose to join L’Arche as a volunteer or assistant to people with intellectual disabilities from a variety of backgrounds and motivations.
Volunteers and Assistants come to L’Arche from around the world or locally around the corner, so Communities include Australians as well as people from many other countries. The key to life in L’Arche for everyone is being open to mutual relationship and friendship. Volunteers, Assistants and people with intellectual disabilities create home together in households. Days are filled with the ordinary tasks of daily living–meals, household chores, shopping–and gatherings and celebrations.
